<div>2010 has been the year when my business has incorporated technology and social media into it. Marketing your business is not just about having a static website which is nothing more than an online brochure.&nbsp; If you really want to interact with your customers and drive traffic to your site you have to jump out of your comfort zone and really embrace the new age of marketing tools that is now at our fingertips.&nbsp; The past 2 years I have really invested time and money into learning as much as I can about how transform my business from a local community business to one that is available to a much larger audience around the country. </div>

<div>First I wrote a book, <a href="http://www.soldfortopdollar.com.au" target="_blank"><strong><em>Sold for Top Dollar &#8211; Low Cost Home Improvements to Maximise your Sale</em></strong></a> and now I am about to convert the vast knowledge about my niche into information products. <a href="http://www.soldfortopdollar.com.au" target="_blank">Sold for Top Dollar </a>is in the process of being made into 2 ebooks and they will soon be available alongside the hardcover book on <a href="http://www.amazon.com" target="_blank">amazon.com</a> which is very exciting. All of a sudden my audience is going to be international!&nbsp; Plunging into the new world internet marketing is scary and there is a lot to learn and that&#39;s when it is time to seek out experts in this area like Danette Hibberd. <div>As a business owner, you already understand the need to provide your target market with helpful and useful products that they can rely on. As an established business owner, you also understand the importance of developing a sense of trust between you and your customer base, because at the end of the day, they will continue coming back and making future purchases if they know that you are someone they can trust.</div>
<div>As the central, or at least very important, piece of your business, information products require three main ingredients, or the three &ldquo;R&rsquo;s&rdquo;:</div>
<div><b>Research. </b>Before you can put together a truly useful and informative product, you must do perform some research. Of course it all starts with an idea &ndash; an idea you have developed through getting to know and understanding the needs of your target market. But an idea will only get you so far. You will have to research the ins and outs of that idea. From who it applies to, to what it entails, why it is important and how it works. Research is a key ingredient for any information product and is the one thing that all other aspects depend upon.&nbsp;</div>
<div><b>Reliability. </b>You can&rsquo;t create a reliable information product if you haven&rsquo;t done the research. (That is why research is so important.) A reliable source &ndash; such as yourself &ndash; only becomes known as reliable if you put forth information others have put to the test, and know to be true. If your customers know they can rely on you, they will continue to buy your products and better yet, they will also tell others about how valuable your products are. One of the best forms of advertising is word of mouth, because no matter how much money you invest or how much time you spend on trying to market your products, one bad review can ruin everything you have worked for. So work hard to make sure every review is a great one.</div>
<div><b>Resources.</b> You will want your information products to become known as valuable resources, not just marketing fluff. In order to create the most reliable products (which, again, you have surely researched) and gain the reputation of providing quality work, you will have to do your due-diligence in ensuring all of your &ldquo;i&rsquo;s&rdquo; are dotted and &ldquo;t&rsquo;s&rdquo; are crossed. Once you have done that, and are confident in your work, you will hopefully become known as a reliable resource, rather than a good idea. The goal is to become an authority within your niche and if you can do that, you will guarantee continued success.</div>
<div>If your information products are built upon the foundation of the three &ldquo;R&rsquo;s&rdquo;, you will quickly realize in increase in sales. Why? Because they work. Because if you care about the quality of your work, so will others. Consumers are smarter than you think and they will recognize a well-researched, well-written, and well-composed information product when they see one.</div>
<div>Research, reliability and resources. Repeat. That is the recipe for information product success. Don&rsquo;t create yours without!&nbsp;</div>

<p><strong>Sold for Top Dollar arrives.</strong></p>
<p>	Today I officially became an author! The first delivery of my book <strong><em>Sold For Top Dollar &ndash; Low Cost Home Improvements to Maximise your Sale</em></strong> arrived at my front door late this afternoon and my daughter Kate and I declared happy hour and cracked open a bottle of bubbly!</p>
<p>	Who would have thought that 2 years ago, when the seed of an idea about writing a book germinated in my mind, that today I would be a fully fledged self published author with an international book distribution deal.</p>
<p>	Wow how did that happen? It has been an amazing journey, starting with a critical turning point in my life when a relationship with a man who I thought was my soul mate, ended for no reason. To say it dented my self confidence is an understatement and I don&rsquo;t want to bore you with the details. But what I will share is I went through a very dark period where it took every fiber of my being, to climb out of a very deep hole.</p>
<p>	I can remember the morning that the announcement came through on the TV in my bedroom that Heath Ledger had died of an overdose. When the commentators were talking about the problems he had with sleeping after he completed filming the Dark Knight and the break up of his marriage, I could totally relate to the fact that I&rsquo;d just like to fall asleep and not wake up. It&rsquo;s not like I wanted to die, as I&rsquo;m sure Heath didn&rsquo;t, it&rsquo;s just that when your life is in turmoil and you can&rsquo;t sleep, you can&rsquo;t eat, you can&rsquo;t turn off the chatter in your brain, you just want some peace &ndash; you just want to sleep!</p>
<p>	Unlike Heath, I didn&rsquo;t turn to drugs and I didn&rsquo;t resort to alcohol &ndash; I was encouraged by my Life Coach, Danni, to start small and dream big! So I immersed myself in work and creativity! I had a vision of where I wanted to go with my business and I created opportunities for myself that I took immediate action on. A week after discussing my idea to write a book with Danni, I had the opportunity to be a contributing author in a compilation book of inspirational stories from authors around the world that was being published by Inspired Spirit Publishing. I jumped at the chance and within 3 months of my application I was a published author in The Path to Success which was distributed both in the USA, Australia and several other countries. I was on the same front cover as Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield and Dr Wayne Dwyer. Amazing! Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield of Chicken Soup for the Soul series have sold 130 million copies of their books worldwide and they are on the same book cover as me!</p>
